Throughout the U.S., more than 18,000 infants are adopted each year domestically. Yet, often, when an individual or couple decides to begin their adoption journey they are frequently told that it’s better to seek an international adoption, that is will go faster and that it will be cheaper.
At AFTH, we work hard to dispel that myth. The reality is that once approved, prospective parents are typically matched with their child within a year and financial assistance is available.
Our experienced adoption team is ready to help you take the next steps. Together, we guide you through the process, help you navigate the police and child abuse background checks, find financial assistance, complete a home study, and then finally, help you make your profile. This profile will be part of our database and will be available for pregnant women to review.
This is an emotional process and since we understand how exciting and stressful this time can be, we also encourage prospective parents to take part in our support groups.
Once an adoption has occurred, we continue to provide support to both parents and adoptee and we are excited to offer ongoing support to adoptees for the rest of their lives.
