Ante Up
Last weekend, on Saturday November 5th, Adoptions From The Heart hosted their first Annual Casino Royale at the Clothier Room in Wynnewood, Pa. Over 100 people came out to for a night of fun, food and fundraising, all benefitting the Birth Parent Scholarship Fund. Guests enjoyed a collection of mellow harmonies, by the Villanova Jazz Band, while sipping wine and enjoying an array of butlered hor d’oeuvres.
Cocktails and more…
Guests were also delighted by Jason Lee producer and reporter of PHL 17 Morning News, who helped host the night, in addition to AFTH board member Thom Rossi! Those in attendance also heard a moving testimonial regarding birth parents from AFTH’s Director of Marketing and Communication – Kristy Hartley-Galbraith. Kristy, being an adoptive mother herself was able to share her relationship with her daughter’s birthmother, and how the Birth Parent Scholarship can help so many birth parents who want to set a good example for their child. One of our most recent scholarship winners, Marisa, is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in California and plans to be a counselor for street youth upon graduation. Marisa was so honored to receive the scholarship. “When I see a girl on the streets in a crisis pregnancy like I once was, I am glad I can be a living example to her that with loving sacrifice and hard work, her dreams don’t have to fade.”
Attendees also enjoyed lounge style seating, a photo booth with exciting props, a carving station, that included roast beef and a delicious Tortellini pasta, as well as a dessert table with assorted cakes
and cookies.
Prizes
And what’s a charity event without an awesome raffle and silent auction? With a ton of great prizes up for grabs, many of our guests did not go home empty handed. One guest scored a dinner date for two at the Moshulu, while others won a 40inch Smart TV, and Philadelphia Flyers tickets. There was even a timeshare that gave the winner a week-long stay at a vacation destination of their choosing.
Thank you!
Because of all of our generous supporters we were able to raise $6,439.86 for the Birth Parent Scholarship Fund. Our gratitude is limitless, and none of this would be possible if it weren’t for the support of our guests, donors, staff and board members. We are already looking forward to next year!
