We Can Help

Thousands of families have been affected by the recent closure of the Independent Adoption Center (IAC). The agency closed its doors after filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, leaving prospective adoptive parents and expectant and birth parents across the country with abandoned adoption plans.

IAC closing does not mean your adoption journey has to end. We have received calls from those affected by IAC’s closing and are here to help! If you are an expecting parent in the middle of the process, whether you were matched with a family or not, we are able to offer free services. We will assign a counselor to work with you, explore your options, and advocate for your needs. Our hotline is available 24 hours a day.

AFTH has 8 offices in 6 states (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Connecticut, New York and Virginia), however, we provide adoption services to families and expecting parents located anywhere in the U.S. The prospective adoptive parents or expecting mother must reside in one of the listed states in order for AFTH to assist.

We understand that this is an extremely difficult time for those who relied on IAC to fulfill their adoption needs. Our goal is to provide resources to help families and expecting parents through this transition.

Our counselors are awaiting your call to answer any questions you may have.
