Each year, our team helps individuals and families get their home study completed, find legal and financial help, and create a profile which will be added to our database. This profile will then be viewed by birth mothers who are seeking to choose their child’s adoptive family.

You will be joining an incredible community and will not only be assigned a counselor who will guide you through the entire process, but we will also give you access to support groups where you can meet others who are on a similar journey.

We work with all individuals and families regardless of sex, marital status, sexual orientation, or financial status. We do, however, request that you be willing to consider open adoption. Not every birth mother wishes to have an open adoption but it’s important that they have that option.

Unplanned pregnancies are always a surprise and often stressful. At Adoptions From The Heart, we do everything we can to support pregnant women during this time and part of this is explaining each option.

Typically, options include:

  • Abortion
  • Parenting
  • Adoption

It is possible to choose an open adoption where you will be in contact with your child and their adoptive parents. This might include the exchange of letters, photographs, names, and even visits. This will be pre-arranged before the adoption is finalized so that you know what to expect in the future.

When you come to AFTH, we will match you with a counselor who will be there to support you in every way possible. This may include helping you:

  • find housing
  • obtain medical insurance
  • make doctors appointments
  • fill out insurance paperwork
  • create a hospital plan
  • determine how much contact you would like to have in the future
  • sort through a database of waiting families

In some cases, financial assistance may be available.

You will have access to support groups where you can speak with women who are also on the adoption journey or who have already given a child up for adoption. These groups will be available to you for as long as you need.

AFTH has also created a scholarship program and while not everyone is eligile, it is possible that you may be able to pay for an undergraduate degree or trade school through this program.
