Located in Litchfield County, Canaan is a town with a small population of about 1,080 according to the 2020 census. Canaan is bordered by North Canaan, Norfolk, Cornwall, Salisbury, Torrington, and Danbury. The town has a total area of 33.2 square miles with the majority being land and a fraction made up of water.
