The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh has brought inspiration and imagination to children and parents for years. The Museum brings well over 300,000 visitors yearly and was named one of the nation’s top 15 children’s museums by Parents magazine in 2015.
Exhibits To Visit
There are tons of creative, fun, and educational exhibitions for your children to explore throughout the Museum. To name a few, The Kindness Gallery, Big League Fun, MuseumLab, Tough Art, MAKESHOP, Nursery, and Theater are a few favorites.
Over summer, the Waterplay exhibition is the place to be. Children can experience a variety of exhibits that allow them to move, pump, and channel the flow of water while experiencing rain, spraying water, and ice. This hands-on experience highlights the many textures of water, including the way it flows, tension, reflection, and much more.
The Garden exhibit is a one-stop-shop for an interactive, outdoor experience where museumgoers can connect with nature and learn about what types of edible plants grow in our area. The Garden is located next to the Museum entrance and produces a variety of fruits, vegetables, greens, herbs, and edible flowers.
Special Events
Hosting your child’s birthday at the Museum is a breeze. Voted the #1 Place To Have A Kid’s Birthday Party by Pittsburgh City Paper in 2019, celebrate your child’s special day at a discounted rate for members.
