Doylestown Country Club was founded in 1916 and is the oldest private club in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Home to a beautiful and popular 18-hole golf course, as well as a luxurious clubhouse with outstanding facilities for guests and special events.
Club History
The five founders of the club were Dr. Frank B. Swartzlander, Dr. Joseph Swartzlander, Dr. Felix X. Murphy, J. Carroll Molloy, Sr. and William R. Mercer, brother of Dr. Henry Chapman Mercer. These men had a dream to find a beautiful piece of land, perfect for a beautiful golf course.
After successfully finding a home for their dream, Doylestown Country Club was formed. Over the years, the club has changed and grown drastically. Not only has the natural beauty been improved, but the services have also been increased, as shown by early construction photos and the latest architectural drawings.
The facilities were extended and modernized in 1972 to accommodate the growing needs of both the golfing and social members. The remodeling included additional locker room facilities, an expanded grill area, and improvements to the swimming pool facilities.
Golf Course
Originally designed by William S. Flynn in 1918 and later remodeled in 1966, members and visitors now enjoy this beautiful course. Our course tests players of all skill levels mixing hilly terrain with strategically placed sand bunkers and water hazards.
Pool & Cabana
Relax and unwind at the poolside tables and deck chairs as you indulge in the bar’s savory treats, entrees, and refreshing list of beverages. The swimming pool contains a 25-meter lap pool, various water features, and a separate children’s pool.
After spending the day playing a great game of golf, or soaking up the sun by the pool, try out one of the local restaurants for some delicious dining.
