With the ease of internet shopping these days, local toy stores are struggling. The convenience of being able to order virtually any toy you want and have it delivered to your doorstep within a couple of days means fewer and fewer people are shopping locally. However, our New Jersey adoption professionals think it’s important to support businesses in the local community. Plus, local stores have a character and charm, and some of them also have a unique selection of toys you can’t find online. Some of our favorite toy stores in the Haddonfield region include:

Happy Hippo Toys

With locations in both Moorestown and Haddonfield, Happy Hippo Toys has been a mainstay of South Jersey for over 30 years. This is the place to go if you’re looking for some classic toys that kids have been enjoying for generations. They’re classics for a reason – kids love playing with them no matter what time period they’re living in.

Some favorites that you can find at Happy Hippo Toys include:

  • Puppets
  • Pogo Sticks
  • Piggy Banks
  • Jack in the Boxes
  • Wagons
  • Magic Sets
  • Matryoshka Dolls
  • Rocking Horses
  • Stuffed Animals
  • Slinkies
  • Wiffle Ball Sets
  • Yo-yos

Game Friendzy

Board games are one of the best ways to teach valuable skills to your kids while having a blast bonding together as a family. For board game lovers, Game Friendzy is a dream come true. It’s a game lending library where you pay a small membership fee and get access to a wide range of board games to rent. It’s basically like what Blockbuster was for video rentals in the 90s, but for board games. Visiting here on a Friday or Saturday night to rent a game is always a favorite activity for the whole family.

The House of Fun

If you grew up in the 80s or 90s, a trip to the House of Fun probably has every vintage toy you ever had on your Christmas list. Their incredibly extensive selection always makes us feel nostalgic. Vintage toy collectors and parents who are looking for a classic toy for their kids will both find something they like here. They also have some more modern action figures and other toys, such as the POP! brand of miniature caricatures of pop culture icons.

Tuesday Morning

Tuesday Morning is a department store where you can find all types of goodies for both kids and adults, along with your pets. This is one of our favorite places to go when we want something to spruce up our home or to get some gifts for our kids or our dogs.

Lakeshore Learning Store

Lakeshore Learning Store is a teacher store, but parents can also find great learning toys, arts and crafts supplies, books, and other items for educational experiences for their kids.
