The McKaig Nature Center boasts 93 beautiful acres of all-natural wooded landscapes with two creeks and several trails for guests to explore. Located in Wayne, PA, the Center brings so much educational entertainment for family and friends to discover.
The Nature Center promotes restoration of aging trees all throughout Radnor Conservancy and receives help from the residents by hosting education programs for others to get a better understanding of tree health and what they can do to help out in their community.
By promoting sustainable planting, the Center can encourage a variety of native plants, rain gardens, trees, and shrubbery to be planted on private and public lands. By doing this, it preserves and improves the health and quality of creeks, rivers, and streams.
Visitors can take advantage of all the educational resources available at their fingertips such as articles and written materials on the Common Trees in PA, an Invasive Plant Guide, Native Plants, Shade Trees, Emerald Ash Borer, Rain Gardens, and Tree Planting.
Girls & Boy Scouts
McKaig Center offers a Scout Badge program for both girls and boys that provide classroom activities and crafts taught in the historic Old Roberts Schoolhouse. The program also includes trips into the woods to learn new skills out in the wilderness.
Events
Mckaig Nature Center often hosts special events and activities for the communities and their members to take part in.
