The Bayernhof Museum

This article is brought to you by the Pittsburgh adoption agency at Adoptions From The Heart.

This incredibly exclusive, 19,000 square foot museum contains a collection of world-class music boxes and other electronic vintage music devices, as well as many other interesting objects.

The structure itself gives visitors a truly fun atmosphere as they travel through closed doors and underground corridors from one incredible space to another.

History

Charles B. Brown, aka Chuck, founder and previous owner of the estate, was in search of a piece of land in Pittsburgh where he could build and castle-like home in O’Hara Township.

Chuck had a fine number of pieces of classical music that he had started collecting in the early 1970s. Nevertheless, he started collecting bigger, more complex electronic antique music machines in the late 1980s.

As the years passed, his collection continued to grow and eventually became a world-class collection of amazing and unique inventions that were mostly over 100 years old.

His dream was to preserve his collection for future generations to enjoy and learn more; therefore, he established The John Schneider Loresch Foundation for the purpose of persevering, maintaining, and expanding both Bayernholf and the collection itself.
