Looking for weekend activities for you and your family? Our adoption agency in Philadelphia has kindly sponsored this article on Race Street Pier to offer various fun family entertainment ideas for you to enjoy.
Race Street Pier opened to the public in 2011 as the first park to be completed by the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation. The pier is located along the river between Race Street and Columbus Blvd.
It is situated just south of the Ben Franklin Bridge, which is fairly close to Cherry Street Pier and offers visitors a grand sky promenade on the upper level for views of the river and a lowe level recreational center perfect for gatherings and special events.
Just outside of the lower level, guests can layout and enjoy the lower terrace on the well-kept grassy lawn, shaded with trees, planting beds, and a variety of seating. At night, the Pier gives visitors an incredible view of the River, Bridge, and the Center City skyline.
Race Street Pier is open all year round from 7 am to 11 pm and provides tons of entertainment from farmer’s markets, attractions, festivals, and much more. The public park also is available for public events such as weddings, engagements, commercial use, birthdays, and any other occasion.
Whether you’re looking for a spot to take a stroll with some friends, walk the dog, go for a run, or shop from some local makers at their weekend farmers market, there will always be something spectacular and fun to discover.
Check out our upcoming blog for more weekend activities, such as visiting the Mütter Museum in Philly.
