Adoptions From The Heart held the 3rd Annual Share Your Heart Benefit Concert at Manayunk Brewing Company on Thursday, November 7th. Over 80 people joined us for the four-hour event that kicked off the National Adoption Month. The event benefitted the Birth Parent Scholarship Fund, a fund that provides financial assistance to birth parents looking to pursue a degree in higher education.
The AFTH team garnished The River Room at the Manayunk Brewing Company in purple and teal decorations (AFTH’s colors). Each table included quotes from Birth Parents who have been helped by the Scholarship Fund on how the Scholarship has improved their life. We also had a great photo booth area for participants with different props.
In addition, the night was full of live music, food, drinks, and celebration. This year’s performers were Bethlehem & Sad Patrick, Miss Elaine, and Whiskey Logic.
Performances
Bethlehem and Sad Patrick opened the night with songs of love and other struggles. Her soaring vocals and his sparse guitar ride atop her driving tarima and body percussion to deliver powerful songs about being in and out of love, living in the city and on the margins, and struggling to make it.
Miss Elaine is a drag artist in the greater Philadelphia area. She won Cycle 9 of Philly Drag Wars as well as Breakthrough Drag Artist of the year in 2018. Ms. Elaine had an amazing Philadelphia inspired act and engaged with the crowd!
Our headliner band was Whiskey Logic. This Rocking’ local cover band played hits from the ’60s to the ’90s and got our crowd going. They played something for everyone and had people singing and dancing to their favorite songs.

Cam Media Team was the headliner sponsor for our event this year. Rizzo is the founder of Cam Media and a Birth Father. Rizzo shared with participants his story and how important the Scholarship Fund is.
Raffles
Raffle baskets were a huge hit as always. We had items that included autographed Beats Headphones, Flyers tickets, Matt and Kim concert tickets, Villanova Football tickets, 200+ worth of comic books, 2 nights/3 days stay at a resort and much more.
Thanks to everyone’s efforts we were able to raise over $2.900. Thank you to everyone for coming out and supporting the Birth Parent Scholarship Fund. We hope to see you again next year Share Your Heart Benefit Concert.
