Named after the English county Buckinghamshire, Bucks County is the 4th more highly populated county in all of Pennsylvania, with its estimated population at about 626,976 as stated from the United States Census in 2013. The county can be found northeast of Philly and shares a border with New Jersey.
History
Bucks County dates back to 1682 when William Penn created the first three counties in Pennsylvania. Along with its name, taken after the home of William Penn in Buckinghamshire, several other nearby locations are also named after English regions.
