Center History
The Connecticut Science Center was founded in 2001, with help from a list of supporters whose goal was to create new educational resources for science and exploration for the community. Upon its founding, a Board of Trustees was formed with the initiative to fund a building dedicated to the Connecticut Science Center. After fundraising and a ginormous construction plan and project, the establishment was finished in 2009 and opened to the public.
Through interactive, creative, and innovative exhibits, the Science Center aims to provide lifelong learning experiences to inspire young minds that will eventually change our world’s future.
Explore & Discover
The Science Center has tons of ongoing activities, exhibitions, and programs available for visitors all year round. One of the most popular activities is the 3D film experience. This features some of the most advanced technologies in both audio and visual experiences where science gets brought to life.
The 30’x 40′ giant screen with an 18,000-watt Dolby® sound system and 3D glasses offers the very best cinema experience with panoramic stadium seating, so you’re 3D experience is nothing but brilliant and bright.
Educational Experiences
Visitors can sign up for educational opportunities available for all ages, from youth to adults. Some of the highest recommended programs to sign up for are the Discovery Center, Science in Motion, LIVE Science Show programs, and the STEM Career Showcases, available both online and in person.
