For nine years now, Adoptions From The Heart has brought people together, yearly, to celebrate adoption through fitness and health. This year, Adoptions from the Heart is proud to present our 10th Annual Anniversary of our Find Their Footing 5K run/walk, in support of the adoption community. This 5K run/walk is a fun and safe way to bring our community together for one cause.
This fundraiser event raises money for The Expecting and Birth Parent Support Fund, which supports Birth Parents who have worked with us, both before and after pregnancy or placement. At Adoptions from the Heart, we understand that each birth parent faces unique challenges, and many find themselves in need of additional financial support to regain their footing. We all know that the COVID-19 pandemic has been another stress additive. The effects of COVID-19 were felt in many households within our communities and AFTH wants to help!
In years past, the Find Their footing 5k was in person as a way of bringing the community together in one place. The past 2 annual celebrations have been virtual due to the pandemic, in an effort to keep you and AFTH employees safe.
This year, in honor of our 10th Annual Anniversary of our Find Their Footing 5K run/walk, the event will be a virtual one, but with a twist on our annual in-person style so that we can all get the chance to support our cause, even if we cannot all run/walk together!
When?
Mark your Calendars! The 5k will be taking place on May 7-8, 2022!
How to sign up?
For those who would prefer to be virtual, participants can sign up to walk/run the 5k at https://find-their-footing-5-k.constantcontactsites.com/. Virtual participants can complete their 5k (3.1 miles) during the time frame of our race dates and can then submit their time to the website and we will mail a medal to you for completing the 5k.
In-Person/Ambassador Registration :
For those who would still like to run with a group, AFTH is launching a ‘Find Their Footing 5k Ambassador’ program, where you will be in charge of choosing a location in your area for other runners/walkers to join you! Ambassadors will be a liaison of information on behalf of AFTH; assisting participants upon arrival and answering any questions that may arise.
