This past Sunday, June 25, Adoptions From The Heart’s PA, NJ, and DE offices hosted their 33rd Annual Family Picnic! This event brings together staff and families (both domestic and international) to celebrate our families brought together by adoption. The picnic is a fun-filled day where adoptive parents, birth parents, adoptees, and extended family members join to enjoy the day with one another spending quality time together. In order to make the day as enjoyable as possible, Adoption From The Heart provided families with hot dogs, snacks, drinks, arts & crafts, entertainment, ice cream for each child, and free family portraits. In addition, we had eight raffle baskets along with a 50/50 raffle that attendees could enter to win. Some of our raffle prizes included: Diamond Club Philadelphia Phillies tickets, an autographed Philadelphia Eagles player photograph, amusement park tickets, Crayola Experience tickets, Lehigh Valley Zoo tickets, a plethora of amazing gift cards, and many more surprises! The raffle and 50/50 sales went towards raising money for the Adoptions From The Heart general funds.
This year, our staff decided to hold this event at a new location. As opposed to the event traditionally being held at Fort Washington State Park, our staff chose to hold this year’s event at Luken’s Park in Horsham, PA. While the team was a bit skeptical regarding the location change, after seeing the event come together, we are extremely thrilled with the new location, and look forward to hosting our annual picnic there again next spring! This year we had the largest attendance post-COVID, with about 250 families who joined in the celebration. 6 ABC even joined in on the fun and got the inside scoop of this special day! Adoptions From The Heart was featured on the 6pm news highlighting the work of our agency, adoption success stories, and why these events are so important to both our staff and families.
We had so much fun celebrating our families at this years’ Annual Family Picnic! We strive to continue to help our families strengthen relationships and create lasting memories with each other through our events. We cannot wait for next spring!
