In the past, our Heart to Heart with Adoptions From The Heart virtual events have been super successful in spreading adoption education and awareness. These panels have offered invaluable insight and perspective from actual members of the adoption community and professionals who work with them daily. These panels not only provided a platform for adoptees, birth parents, and adoptive parents to share their experiences but also facilitated a better understanding of the complexities of every journey.
Hosted by our very own Amanda Aliberti, we have been able to emerge in open and honest dialogue, shed light on the challenges and rewards of adoption, and provide support and guidance for those going through the process. As we enter 2024, we only expect more as we look forward to continuing to infiltrate meaningful conversations with real people.
We are excited to announce the upcoming Heart To Heart, which will take place this February, will be about navigating transracial adoption. We have carefully chosen topics to provide meaningful and insightful discussions for our audience and handpicked this as our first topic because many placements in which we see are transracial adoptions.
There are unique challenges that arise in terms of identity and cultural integration that are absent in same-race adoptions, as well as certain levels of awareness that must take place to ensure that adopted children maintain a connection to their cultural heritage and their sense of belonging.
The hope for this conversation is to urge the understanding of what it means to adopt transracially and how it can affect each triad member, both differently and similarly. This is a conversation you won’t want to miss! Registration will be opening soon.
