Though the year is coming to a close, Adoptions From The Heart has a busy schedule planned. Read below to find out what’s going on and sign up for an event that interests you!
National Adoption Month (November)
National Adoption Month (NAM) occurs every November. NAM began as a week-long celebration in Massachusetts in 1976. Since then, it has evolved into a month-long event! Each year, the President of the United States makes a proclamation to announce that November is National Adoption Month. This year, National Adoption DAY is celebrated on November 23, 2024. Thousands of adoptions are finalized in courtrooms all across the United States on this special occasion. Every year this celebration grows larger as more and more states and courtrooms become involved. Whether you’re an adoptee, birth parent, adoptive parent, advocate, or just simply support adoption, this November join us in celebrating National Adoption Month!
Gift Card Drive
Just before the holiday season, AFTH identifies several birth mothers, parenting other children at home, as being in need of extra financial assistance. This year, with the help of adoption-friendly businesses, we hope to help even more families! Please keep this opportunity in mind for your charitable giving. AFTH will graciously be accepting Target, Acme, Walmart, and Visa gift cards ranging from $25-$200. Without these gift card donations, many of the birth mothers would not be able to provide a special meal, warm clothes, and a few presents for their children during the holiday season. If you or your company would like to make a monetary or gift card donation, please visit: https://adoptionsfromtheheart-bloom.kindful.com/?campaign=1315002
AFTH’s “Paper Heart Project”
Consider joining the Paper Heart Project this November in honor of National Adoption Month!
- Spread Adoption Awareness in Your Community
- Support Pregnant Women in Need
- Celebrate the Beautiful Families Adoption Creates
Local small business & community members will be showing their support for National Adoption Month and Adoptions From The Heart by joining our Paper Heart Project this November. For a $1 donation per heart, paper hearts will be displayed to spread adoption awareness. You can join the project by visiting select local businesses, any of our office locations, or by making a donation online.
All proceeds will be donated to AFTH’s Expectant & Birth Mother Fund which supports women choosing to place their children for adoption; in their education, counseling, medical care and guidance, living essentials, or other needs.

Heart-to-Heart: Mental Health and Adoption (November 7)
Join us for our upcoming Heart-to-Heart event on Thursday, November 7. This Heart-to-Heart will focus on Mental Health in Adoption. Registration is free! Hear how mental health can affect all sides of the adoption triad. Our guest speakers will include an adoptee, a birth parent, and an adoptive parent. They will share their experiences about their mental health journey.
At the end of the event, we will be raffling off a $100 Amazon gift card to our participants. This is a fundraising event and all proceeds raised will go towards Adoptions From The Heart programs & services.
Adoption From The Heart’s Heart-to-Heart events were created to share the voices of the members of the Adoption community. Each year, we present three virtual events to bring you the perspectives of those who have experience with the adoption process. We have events dedicated to Birth Parents, Adoptees, and the community as a whole. Join us at our next Heart-to-Heart event on November 7, 2024, to learn about the intersectionality of mental health and adoption from our community.
Giving Tuesday (December 3)
Giving Tuesday is an international day of giving, with non-profits from around the globe participating. This day of giving always falls on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. This year Giving Tuesday will be held on December 3, 2024. #GivingTuesday is an online movement, which will be the official kick-off for AFTH’s End of Year Campaign. Its purpose is to raise awareness about birth parents and increase fundraising for the Expectant and Birth Parent Support Fund. Additionally, AFTH wants to help birth parents get on their feet and establish a career. We have made a scholarship eligible to anyone attending vocational or trade school, undergraduate studies including 4-year programs, associate’s degree, and community college as well as accreditation and certificate programs.
