Adoptions From The Heart is excited to announce its Spring Education Series. We believe education is an essential tool for strengthening families and deepening understanding of adoption.

Beginning April 9th, the series will feature four educational classes and one webinar. Each class is designed to educate, support, and guide every member of the adoption triad through their unique journey. Whether you’ve worked with AFTH or another agency, everyone is welcome to attend.

All classes will be held on Zoom and fulfill AFTH’s CEU requirements. Classes are $30 per family unless otherwise noted. The webinar is $100 per family.

Educational Series:

Understanding Birthparent Support at Adoptions From the Heart

This class will offer an overview on what the BP fund is, how it serves our community, and ways that families can donate. We are hoping to include some stories from birthparents who can share how their lives were positively impacted by the AFTH Birthparent Support Fund. Additionally, we are hoping to offer an overview of ways that AFTH can provide ongoing support for birthparents, post-placement.

Birth Parent Panel: Honoring The Journey

Birth parents who placed their children 5–18 years ago will share their adoption journeys, how they chose their adoptive families, their current relationships with their children and adoptive families, and why maintaining open relationships matters. Each panelist brings a unique and powerful perspective. Join us as we elevate birth parent voices and honor their stories.

Understanding the Birth Parent’s Heart–Mind Conflict

While financial concerns are often times the reason why birthparents choose adoption for their child, it is not the only reason. It can sometimes be harder to battle your mind vs. heart when the reasons go beyond financial. This class is designed to explore reasons why birthparents consider adoption vs. parenting, and how additional pressure/people can influence their decision.
