Adoptions From The Heart’s 31st Annual Picnic was one for the books. AFTH hosted their Annual Family Picnic, at Fort Washington State Park in Flourtown, Pennsylvania. Hundreds of people joined us for a day of celebrating families built through adoption. Our picnic allows adoptive parents, birth parents and adoptees to reunite. It also allows them to recognize all members of the adoption triad, as well as open adoption.
Delicious Food
This year we had tons of yummy snacks and food, including Ambler’s Pizza delicious tomato pies and a variety of mouth-watering protein bars from KIND Snacks. We also had hot dogs fresh from the grill as well as fruit and other picnic snacks.
New this year Hailez Cometz provided the live music. Children and adults alike enjoyed dancing to the great hits from the 50s, 60s, and 70s.
Kids Activities
Thanks to our wonderful face painters, children transformed into princesses, mermaids, super heroes and much more! Children had the chance to showcase their creative side at our arts & crafts station, where they could build a monster bookmarks, make clothes pins butterflies or bracelets, and design peace signs. Our welcome table was loaded with free toys and prizes for families! In addition, each child was able to enjoy a free ice cream! Families were also invited to have free family portraits taken to capture the special event.
Family Time
Another round of great raffle prizes were available this year including a Couples Night Out baskets, A Girls & Guys Night Out baskets, Treat Yourself Baskets, Family Fun and more. We even had some tickets to the Kids On The Block concert. We raised $1,125.34 for our Expecting and Birth Parent Support Fund. As always, we want to tthank our great sponsors, Cofsky & Ziedman, LLC, University of Penn Hospital, Key Business Solitions, Kling & Diebler, LLP, Bob’s Red trucks, and Gold Fish Swim School for their donations.
