History

Carnegie of Homestead Music Hall is located in the Carnegie Library in Munhall, just south of Pittsburgh. The Library was built in 1898 by William Miller and Sons of Pittsburgh and cost an estimated $250,000. Upon completion, Carnegie spent over 40 million dollars building an additional 1,700 libraries all across America but believed Homestead was the best one.

The building was used as a place where the community can gather for special events and occasions. Many sports games were also available for the community, such as gymnastics, wrestling, basketball, baseball, swimming, boxing, bowling, and football. Along with sports activities, a series of academic and education programs also were available to the community.

Through the use of funding efforts like fundraisers, athletic club memberships, music hall rentals, and concession stands, the library is able to stay open and continue providing the community with all it has to offer.

The Music Hall

As we mentioned above, the Carnegie Library of Homestead offers visitors a variety of activities and sources of entertainment. The Music Hall is a community favorite for its diverse amount of musical performances, special performances, and concerts.

The Music Hall offers tons of events to purchase tickets for and is all available online on select dates. The concert hall has over 1,000 seats with a great line of view of the stage, historical embellishments, and beautiful detailed features all throughout the hall.
