We have been married seven years and are looking forward to adding a child to our family. From the beginning of our marriage, we have talked about adopting. We always knew that raising an adopted child would be part of our family plan. In part, this is because adoption is part of our lives, as we have family members who are adopted, and friends who are adoptive parents.
At our jobs, Drew works as a high school teacher, and Missy is a therapist at a children’s hospital.
We enjoy spending time with the children and teens we work with, and with our nieces, nephews, and our friends’ children. However, we are excited to open our hearts to loving a child of our own.
Our home is filled with love, compassion and fun. Missy loves Drew’s sense of humor and creativity, and Drew loves Missy’s kind heart and thoughtfulness. We like to explore and learn.
When we raise a child, we want him or her to know they are loved as they are and without condition.
We plan to encourage a child’s sense of wonder about the world while helping him or her discover and understand themselves.
