Last week, National Infertility Awareness Week was in full swing at Adoptions From The Heart. Not every family who comes through our doors has dealt with infertility, but many have, and we’ve helped them find the beautiful families they have always wanted.

To help raise awareness, we took to social media to see what families who had chosen adoption after fertility could share, and what we could share, to help families still struggling with infertility. While adoption isn’t the option for everyone dealing with infertility, it’s important to be educated on every option so you do know what is right for you.

Each day last week we utilized our Facebook and Twitter pages to reach out about the topic of infertility. Most days we posted a quote from a family who had dealt with infertility, an article to give readers more information about the topic, and a question, to hear what people’s advice and/or concerns were about infertility. Some of the topics that we discussed involved;

  • Medical options for infertility
  • Coping mechanisms for dealing with the emotional stresses
  • When and how to “move on” from infertility
  • Concerns about choosing adoption after infertility
  • The joy of having a family no matter how you get thereNational Infertility Awareness Week Recap

We were so pleased with the results. Infertility is not an easy thing to discuss. However, our community took to our pages to help us provide guidance and hope for those still struggling. Many families from our Central Pennsylvania office reached out, wanting to offer a helping hand. After a handful of interviews, we were able to compile some beautiful sentiments and worthy advice, which received gracious engagement from our community.

The questions we posed also had wonderful engagement, full of helpful answers from families with experience in infertility.

Our audiences also expressed gratitude and hope when we shared a particularly relatable article on the concerns of adoption after infertility and the difference between “second choice” and “second best.”
