When you’re looking to get your day started off right, there’s not much that beats a good cup of coffee. In Philadelphia, there are plentiful options for good coffee shops. No matter which part of the city you’re in, you’re probably close to a local shop with house-brewed blends of a variety of delicious coffees and teas. Our Philadelphia adoption agents grab coffee during just about every workday. Some of our favorite shops in the city include:
Menagerie Coffee
Located in Old City, Menagerie Coffee offers a variety of full-bodied coffees from Dogwood Coffee, Ceremony Coffee, and others. They also have a food menu that makes it a great stop for both breakfast and lunch.
Some of our favorite drinks on the menu include:
- Almond milk latte
- Iced coffee
- Cappuccino
- Americano
- Macchiato
We’ve stopped in here both for coffee on the way to the office and during lunch breaks. Some of our favorite sandwiches on the food menu include:
- Tuna melt
- Ham, honey mustard, Havarti on brioche
- Turkey, brie, apple butter on pumpernickel
Elixr Coffee Roasters
Elixr Coffee Roasters offers a variety of amazing coffee blends and snacks. This is one of our favorite places to work or study in the city, as they have plenty of seating, outlets, and free WiFi. They roast their own beans and make some of the best coffee in the entire city.
Some of our favorite brews here include:
- Washed Ethiopia Rophi
- Colombia Suarez
- La Palma Y El Tucan
- Lunar Lander Espresso
- La Merced Pacamara
Lucky Goat Coffeehouse
Located in the up-and-coming neighborhood of Brewerytown, Lucky Goat Coffeehouse is a small, friendly neighborhood spot offering a variety of flavorful coffees, teas, pastries, bagels, and more. While it may be cozy, there is space to work and free, reliable WiFi.
Some of our favorite items on the menu at Lucky Goat include:
- Cafe Au Lait
- Drip Coffee
- Red Eye
- Chai Latte
- Hot Chocolate
River Wards Cafe
This cafe is slightly off the beaten path in Port Richmond but is one of our favorite options in the River Wards section of the city. It’s even worth it to travel here for a cup on the weekend if you’re just looking to relax at the shop for an hour or two. They have a full drink menu with just about every coffee drink you could imagine, along with donuts and other pastries.
La Colombe Coffee
La Colombe is a chain with four locations in Philadelphia and several others in New York, Boston, California, Chicago, and Washington D.C. Their coffee is one of our favorites to brew at home and we also like stopping by the shop for a quick cup. Some other coffee shops in the city use their brews, and we think they have some of the best blends in this region.
