Adoptions From The Heart stands with the world in the fight for equality and fair treatment for men, women and children of color. The conviction of a police officer in the death of George Floyd had communities and the world rejoicing that justice had been served, but this was not justice, this was accountability. In the fight for equal and fair treatment this is only the beginning.
Dante Wright was killed by a police officer right before this verdict was handed down, and several other black and brown men and women have met a similar fate these past few days. The conviction of Chauvin is just the beginning. There is more work to do. Talk about it, learn about it, listen to the voices of those who have had to deal with this issue for too long.
It is now time to stop the violence, indifference and inequality in communities of people of color. It is time to shine a light on the intolerance of men, women and children of color as well as immigrants of color. It is time to take a stand against the systemic racism in this country and say enough is enough. The color of your skin or your ethnic heritage should not dictate how you are treated in the United States or around the world.
Adoptions From The Heart is working hard to be proactive in this movement towards equality.
