With a wide range of amenities, Delcastle Recreational Park offers activities for everyone in the family. Some of our favorite parts of this 400-acre park include:
Golf Course
Delcastle’s sprawling 18-hole golf court makes up the majority of the park. If you’re an avid golfer in Delaware, you’ve likely played at least a few rounds here over the years. We love coming here to relax and enjoy a round and good company with friends on the weekends. There’s also a driving range here, so it’s a great place to practice your game. When your kids get older, you could also spend some time teaching the game at the driving range and on the course. Teaching the strategy and nuances of the game is a great way to bond with your kids.
Basketball Courts
If basketball is your game, you can practice or play at one of Delcastle’s several ball courts. Practice your jump shot, join in a pickup game, or enjoy a one-on-one contest with your son or daughter. We find that competing together is one of the best ways to grow closer with your kids and always makes for a fun afternoon.
Trail
Delcastle’s 1.7-mile paved trail offers an enjoyable hike for people of all ages and skill levels. The trail offers some gorgeous nature views and runs along open vistas and high-grass meadows. We love taking leisurely strolls along this trail on nice spring, summer, and fall days.
Softball Complex
Delcastle Recreational Park houses New Castle County’s Softball Complex. Organized leagues of all age groups and genders play here at the four lighted softball fields with 300-foot fences, 70-foot bases, indoor restrooms, and a concession stand. If you used to play softball or baseball and are missing your glory days, joining a league and playing here can be a great way to relive them.
Street Hockey Rink
You can enjoy a casual game of street hockey at Delcastle’s fenced-in rink. These games are always fun and competitive and a great way to get a workout in while having a blast doing it. We love jumping in pick-up street hockey games during the summertime at Delcastle Recreational Park.
