Adoptions From The Heart’s Second Annual Find Her Footing Zumbathon

Adoptions From The Heart’s Second Annual Find Her Footing Zumbathon® was nothing short of a success. Over 60 people came to the Greater York Center for Dance Education to partake in a fun Zumba® workout session. Zumba® is an exercise fitness program that is a mix of cardio and Latin dance moves. Participants not only broke a sweat for themselves, but also a worthy cause- Expecting and Birth Parent Support Fund.

AFTH’s Expecting and Birth Parent Support Fund provides assistance to birth parents who are financially struggling. Just receiving a little money to pay one’s electric bill for a month can make a huge difference. AFTH has provided financial assistance to over 69 birth parents within the last two years.

Kristy Galbraith, AFTH’s Marketing Director opened the event with an inspiring speech of how the support fund helped her daughter’s birth mother. The Zumba® session was led by six official  Zumba® instructors Amanda, Amy, Theresa, Bridgette, Greta and Casandra. Miss Pennsylvania 2018, Kayla Repasky and Miss MidState’s Outstanding Teen 2018, Avia Weber were two of Zumbathon®’s special guests.  Kayla and Avia joined in on the Zumba® fun as well! At the event there was a raffle drawing for great prizes like vacation timeshares and an autographed Philadelphia Eagles photo.

AFTH is proud to report that over $1,400 was raised from the event’s registration fees, raffle sales and generous donations. AFTH would like to thank everyone who broke a sweat at our Zumbathon®!
