Webinar By Pittsburgh Adoption Agency On An Educational Course For Child Care

These foundations of infant and childcare, including newborn behaviors, diapering and dressing, feeding, umbilical cord care, newborn health and safety basics, when to call your pediatrician, as well as other changes that may occur with new parenthood, will be covered in this infant care class, which is specifically designed for adoptive families.

Only prospective adoptive parents are allowed to attend this session, which gives them the opportunity to study in a non-medical setting without an emphasis on pregnancy and labor. Families from AFTH will have ample of time to ask questions, and this workshop will satisfy the agency’s daycare need.

Webinar By The Pittsburgh Adoption Agency For Adoptive Parents

The online webinar is hosted by Adoptions From The Heart and offers adoptive parents advice on working through the baby blues.

This seminar will address postpartum depression in birth mothers who place their children for adoption and the ensuing grief and loss associated with placement. The class will also address the Adoption Baby Blues that adoptive parents sometimes experience after being placed with an infant and how these issues might impact the open adoption relationship.

Webinar By The Pittsburgh Adoption Agency Offering Educational Courses For Families

The online webinar is hosted by Adoptions From The Heart and offers educational courses on prenatal and drug and alcohol exposure.

AFTH wants families to make informed decisions when completing their profile keys. Dr. Erin Meyer is an Internal Medicine and Pediatric Hospitalist who worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She is also an adoptive mom, and can speak from both professional and personal angles. She will be discussing the effects of drug and alcohol use on the newborn during pregnancy as well as withdrawal symptoms and short and long term effects of exposure. There will be a time for questions. Each family has to decide what situations are right for them. Many families came away from this class feeling comfortable opening their key.

Webinar By Pittsburgh Adoption Agency On Prenatal Drug & Alcohol Exposure

This webinar is designed to offer educational resources for prospective and adoptive parents on the effects of prenatal drugs.

The webinar will be led by a pediatrician who is also an adoptive mother. She will be providing detailed information about the prenatal effects of drug and alcohol use to assist families when filling out their profile keys. There will be time available to ask any questions you may have.

Upon registering, you will receive a confirmation email with the link for the day of the webinar. In addition you will receive a phone number and access code for the Webinar. You will need to call in to hear the presentation. Once you log into the presentation, you will see a PIN . When prompted on the conference call, enter the PIN in order to be able to ask your questions during the presentation.
