Find Her Footing Sweat-a-Thon

Looking for a fun way to get fit and give back to the community? Join Adoptions From The Heart (AFTH) on Sunday August 20th at the Greater York Center for Dance Education in York, Pa for our 1st Annual Find Her Footing Sweat-A-Thon. From 1pm – 4pm guests can get their body moving, while burning calories with some of the best local dance instructors in the area. This is a family event for ALL ages, and participants can choose from six 30 min sessions, which will include breaking a sweat to the coolest hip-hop routines, high-energy Zumba choreography and rocking out with drumsticks in a POUND workout.

Miss Pennsylvania & Miss York County

We are excited to announce that Miss Pennsylvania, Katie Schreckengast and Miss York County, Jennah Motter will be in attendance. Schreckengast was adopted from Korea at 6 months and has chosen “Building Families Through Adoption” as her platform. Motter, a professional dancer, will be hosting a dance work out session.

AFTH’s Event & Marketing Coordinator, Sara Moyer is excited to have helped spearhead the event. “We are thrilled to be hosting an event that promotes health and adoption awareness,” said Moyer. “Adoption is a beautiful way to build families and we want to provide support for everyone in the adoption triad.”

Expecting & Birth Parent Fund

All of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Expectant and Parent Birth Fund. The fund provides aid to women who have placed a child through our agency, and are experiencing financial hardship. Many birth parents struggle to obtain basic needs, such as groceries, housing expenses, toiletries, transportation fare and much more. AFTH created the Expecting and Birth Parent Support Fund to provide necessary and valuable services to women throughout pregnancy and after she gives birth. In addition, AFTH provides expectant mothers with extensive counseling, assistance accessing medical care, guidance with adoptive parent profiles and birth parent support groups.
