Adoptions From The Heart (AFTH) is celebrating thirty years of service to adoptive parents, birth parents and the adoption community with the Building Beautiful Futures event hosted by Cory Wade.
Cory Wade is a model, musician, television personality, and LGBT spokesperson with a personal connection to adoption. He sought out for superstardom and fame from a very young age and now Cory is internationally famous as the 2nd runner up and fan favorite on the first ever co-ed cycle of America’s Next Top Model. Today, Cory Wade is a model, brand ambassador, musician, world traveler, entrepreneur, and all around advocate for free and honest self-expression. Using music as an artistic outlet, his ultimate goal is to inspire people to express themselves freely without any fear and AFTH is thrilled to have him hosting our special night celebrating 30 years of open adoption.

Why are we celebrating?
Beginning in the basement of her home, Founder and Executive Director, Maxine Chalker, couldn’t even imagine how much of an impact her agency would have. Maxine, an adoptee with a closed adoption, had a vision to create an agency that would focus on openness in order to better serve all of the members of the adoption triad. Now, having grown to eight offices in six states, and serving clients nationwide, Maxine’s dream of creating an open adoption agency went from being just a vision, to impacting thousands of lives. The Building Beautiful Futures event will be celebrating these milestones, the over 6,500 adoptive families, and the birth parents who have been with AFTH through it all.

How are we celebrating?
The night will be full of cocktails and hors d’eouvres, fun to be had at casino tables and the photo booth, and entertainment from local performers and a mentalist. We don’t want guests to leave empty handed and will have high-end, luxury items up for auction including a LED flat screen television paired with a year subscription to Netflix, Philadelphia sports paraphernalia, gift certificates to top Philadelphia restaurants, hair styling from the best professional hair salons in Philadelphia, a Keurig coffee maker with K-cups, and much more! This silent auction at the event will be contributing to the Birthparent Scholarship Fund, helping birth parents continuing their education after placement. The AFTH Birthparent Scholarship Fund assists birthparents (not limited to those who have worked with AFTH) who are pursuing a college level degree. The fund was established to provide scholarships to those in need of financial assistance in order to reach their dreams.

The event will be held on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM at the Philadelphia Racquet Club located at 215 South 16th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19102.
