National Adoption Month/World Adoption Day
November marks National Adoption Month, every year AFTH celebrates by hosting an event that highlights the beautiful families formed through adoption.
National Adoption Month is a national campaign to increase recognition, share resources and bring attention to the need for permanent families for children and youth throughout the U.S.
We are pleased that this year, we will be hosting an event that not only celebrates National Adoption month, but also coincides with World Adoption Day. According to worldadoptionday.org , World Adoption Day is a day to raise funds to support families in their adoption. Ambassadors from all over the world are organizing events and parties, bringing together people from all walks of life to celebrate World Adoption Day. Join us as we create a day to celebrate the power and beauty of family brought together through adoption.
Share Your Heart Concert
Adoptions From The Heart is thrilled to announce that we will be hosting our first annual, Share Your Heart Benefit Concert on Thursday, Nov. 9 at Manuyunk Brewing Company.
The event will take place from 7 pm -10 pm, and will include live music from the rock band Under This Fire. This will be the second time, the Philadelphia based band teamed up with AFTH. Last June, they had the crowd moving their feet to some of their original songs at our Annual Family Picnic. Guests can also expect awesome raffle prizes, one complimentary drink ticket and light refreshments. All proceeds from the event will be benefiting AFTH’s Birth Parent Scholarship Fund. The Fund was established to help birth parents pursue a higher education.
“I want to be a role model for my daughter, I want her to see, no matter how tough life becomes, you can get through it.” – Brittany, Fall 2017 Scholarship Award Winner.
The scholarship is NOT limited to AFTH birth parents, anyone who placed a child is eligible. Since the inception of the Fund in 2014, AFTH has awarded over $17,000 to men and women in need.
