Mia
Hi! My name is Mia. I am 11 years old and I am adopted. My birth parents chose the agency – Adoptions from the Heart and open adoption. I think that this is pretty cool! And I feel that I am so lucky because of that choice. Now I have two families, two birthday celebrations, and double the love! I get to visit my birth parents every year for my birthday. I love this because I get to spend time with them. We get to talk, and I get to ask them questions and we just get to be together. It is so fun. My parents enjoy spending time with my birth parents too! Everybody gets along great! We all love each other and the family we have become.
Being adopted makes me feel special and unique. I love to talk about my adoption story. It is what makes me, me.
To me, open adoption is a great thing! I am so happy that I get a chance to know my birth parents and learn about where I came from and they get a chance to watch me and group up too! It’s a win-win for everyone!
