Lincoln was looking forward to his pirate-themed birthday party this April, but his parents had to cancel it because of the pandemic. Like most children, the little buccaneer was bummed he could no longer have his friends over for a pirate soiree. Even though Lincoln’s friends could not come aboard his ship (house) this year to celebrate his parents Jason and Stacey found another way he and his mateys could have a great day.

Stacey was determined to give her son a day where others showed affirmations of love while recognizing his love of pirates from afar. His mother gathered all of the pirate vests she was initially going to give to the party guests and drove it to each of their homes. With each vest, there was a note attached to inviting everyone to send videos of themselves donning their pirate get-up to honor Captain Lincoln.

Lincoln’s smile grew wider throughout the day as each video as he watched each video texted to his mother of his hearties singing “Happy Birthday” in their vests. Towards the end of the birthday party, Lincoln was treated to an unexpected birthday parade outside of his house. Families got into their cars to drive by Lincoln’s house to yell “happy birthday” and other jubilant sentiments to their matey.

Although Lincoln did not expect to celebrate his 6th birthday this way, his parents found a way to organize an eventful day worth its weight in treasured gold!

Here’s a video of a video montage Stacey made in honor of Captain Lincoln’s 6th Birthday:
