My husband and I were placed with a beautiful baby girl through AFTH on November 2, 2016. After almost two and a half years of waiting we finally received a call for an emergency placement. We had less than 24 hours to travel to Philadelphia to meet our daughter Quinn. It was quite a whirlwind of a day!  Meeting our daughter was one of the most exciting moments of our life.

Getting her back to the hotel and coping with adjusting to being parents in a small hotel suite was quite an adventure. After the chaos of the hospital was over and we had gotten her back to the hotel room we were clueless as to what to do with this tiny baby who would not stop fussing.  Realizing that she was getting to know us as much as we were getting to know her, we eventually figured it out. We only had a few things for our daughter and since she was already two months old the newborn clothes and diapers, we had ready and waiting were not sufficient. Thankfully, the wonderful nurses at Temple Hospital provided us with a baby box with enough diapers, wipes, formula and a few outfits to last a few days. My mother and sister came to the hotel that weekend with everything else we needed.  They were so excited to meet the newest addition to the family.

Now that our daughter Quinn is almost four, we could not imagine our lives without her.  The three of us were clearly meant to be.  We look forward to watching her continue to grow and hope to share many more special moments with her.
